Ladies’ Captain v Vice Captain match and End of Season Presentation Evening

The Annual end of Season Match between Ladies' Captain Sue's team and Vice Captain Rina's  was blessed with excellent weather and produced a closely fought match ending in a satisfying tie, 4 ½ - 4 ½ . Well done to all the Ladies who took part. 

 The Presentation Evening was to start with the handing over of a Charity cheque to representatives of my chosen Charity – The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF). Ray Hollingworth and his daughter, Linzi-Jo Talbot, received the cheque for £3,384-57 from myself and Edith Pacey whose individual contribution to the total was over £1,000 raised through her beautiful knitted and crocheted scarves and necklaces. It turned out that Ray was acquainted with Edith so the identity of the PCRF'S representatives was kept secret until the night to suprise her and they all joined me for the meal before the business of the Evening began. Ray and Linzi-Jo  then briefly spoke to the Ladies about the work of the Charity and the need to find a simple and easy method of diagnosis for this most deadly but little known Cancer.

The Presentation of the Ladies' Trophies won over the season started with the gift of framed Team photographs given to the Ladies’ Inter-club team of Julia Hatcher, Sandie Pearson, Eva Glasby and Jane Tucker who won through to the final of the competition but were beaten by Chilwell Manor at Coxmoor. The partnerships endured throughout the Competition from the first round and developed into a formidable team. Well done!  

All the Trophies won over the Summer were presented to their worthy winners. Congratulations to  the winners 2015 and wish everyone all the best for 2016.
