Congratulations to Neil Pepper, Maurice Mayfield and Howard Jones winners of the New Years Day Competition with 82 points. Michael Sheard, Ben Sheard and Michael Carman were 2nd with 80 points and in 3rd place were Chris Chrysanthou, Tom Chrysanthou and Bob Britten also with 80 points.  Many thanks to all who took part.

The EGU are launching an initiative which will require all members with CONGU handicaps to have returned at least three qualifying scores each year to ensure they have an active handicap.  Follow this quick link for further information.  EGU Initiative.

Malcolm Smith 2008 Cub Captain presented the final donation from Newark Golf Club of £ 2119 to the Chief executive Peter Aldrick on Friday 12th December.  Thank you to everyone who contributed.

The draw was done at the social night on Friday 12th December and the winner was......Clyde Scothern.  Many congratulations.  Second prize went to George Bower and third prize to Jill Todd.  Thanks to everyone who supported the draw and the night.

On Friday 12th December the Captain has organised a Steak and Race night.  During the interval the Xmas Draw will take place.  There is no charge for the evening if you're not dining; parties dining can pre-book their table and their food at the bar.

On Sunday 14th December between 1.30pm and 5pm its the Childrens Xmas Party.  This year the entertainment is with Bonkers the Clown; a great favourite with the children.  Book your places in the Spike Bar.

On Saturday 20th December its the Xmas A La Carte and Disco.  A great night out for £30 but be quick - places are limited and going quickly.  Book at the bar.

Finally, Wednesday 31st December, New Years Eve Party, and back by popular demand its top band Buster; £30 a head inludes a hot buffet and party packs.  Once again places can be booked at the bar.

Our normal Wednesday Club Night  - from 7pm you can enjoy a hot buffet, including a choice of curry, eat as much like for £6, watch the football on the large screen high definition TV or join in other activities - will not take place on 24th December, 31st December or the 7th January.

Work has commenced to re-generate the heather on the 11th and 16th fairways.  The old heather and grass has been stripped leaving the dormant seed lying in the humus.  Together with the introduction of new seed this should re-generate these areas.  The process will take a considerable time to work;  the areas are clearly marked as GUR.  Please be careful if you enter the GUR to retrieve your ball.

Score Entry on the computer will now take place in the Spike Bar.  Signing in to the competition on the day will continue to take place in the new Golf Shop.

The Board of Directors remind members that it would be appreciated if medium/large commercial vehicles/vans were parked in the larger visitors car park, not the front members car park.  Thank you for your co-operation .

The markers on the trees visible to the right of the fairway from the 7th Tee are to enable you to locate your ball as quickly as possible.  The distance markers on each hole are to the centre of the green.  They are also being utilised for starter Juniors teeing areas, which is why they are on the Par 3's.

Buggy use in competitions has been approved by the Competitions Committee.

Prize winning vouchers are now credited to members cards.
